Preparations are underway for the Metropolitan Center for Women and Children’s (METRO’s) fall gala. In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, METRO is hosting, “Shelter From The Storm” at the Foundry, New Orleans . This event will bring together community members and organization patrons for an evening of food, music, silent and live auctions, and an open bar.
Proceeds will benefit METRO, a non-profit organization that exists for survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault. METRO provides a 24-hour crisis line, shelter, counseling, legal aid and advocacy services for individuals in the greater New Orleans area. METRO’s mission is to break the cycle of domestic violence and aid survivors of sexual assault through advocacy, intervention, and empowerment transformation.
New Orleans Jazz musicians will highlight the evenings’ activities with performances. Dance the night away for a great cause. METRO’s “Shelter From The Storm" will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 8:00 – 11:00 PM at the Foundry, 333 St. Joseph St., New Orleans, LA, 70130. Advance sale tickets are $100 and include live music, food, open bar and silent auction. Tickets are on-sale now and may be purchased by calling 504-837-5400.
